Honouring Our Pets: Creating Lasting Memories Before They Cross the Rainbow Bridge

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest things we’ll ever face. But in my years as an animal communicator, I’ve learned that the time leading up to their passing can be filled with love, gratitude, and beautiful memories.

One of the most important things I tell pet parents is to make the most of the time you have left. Tell your pet how much you love them every single day. Animals are incredibly sensitive to frequencies, and words like “love” and “gratitude” resonate deeply with them.

Take them to their favourite places, spoil them with their favourite treats, and invite their animal friends for visits. And don’t forget to take photos and videos. I know it might feel painful at the time, but these memories will become treasures you’ll cherish forever.

I also encourage you to have open conversations with your pet about their end-of-life wishes. Animals often have a good understanding of their medical needs and can communicate their preferences, whether it’s staying at home or visiting the vet. Some even have specific requests for their aftercare, like being buried with a favourite toy or having a memorial garden planted in their honour.

Honouring our pets is about celebrating their lives and the joy they brought us. By creating lasting memories and respecting their wishes, we can ensure their legacy lives on in our hearts.
